How to use Exothermic Welding Accessories ?

1 – Graphite Mould for Exothermic Weld

Graphite moulds are designed for repeated use; the original product guidance gives an average of 60–100 connections, depending on care and conditions. Use the specified mould for the conductor dimensions. Keep the mould dry, prepare it according to the supplied instructions and clamp it securely to prevent leakage. After cooling, remove residue with the recommended tools and a soft cleaning brush. Avoid hard objects, moisture and excessive heat, which can damage the mould.

2 – Mould Handle Clamp (Universal)

Handle clamps allow the mould to be handled and hold its halves together. Select a clamp compatible with your mould. The original kit guidance recommends one handle for every two moulds; confirm the required size when ordering.

3) Steel Metal Disk

A steel disc retains the weld material in the upper crucible until the reaction allows molten metal to flow into the weld cavity. Use a new disc of the specified size for each weld.

4) Exothermic Weld Powder

We offer Exothermic Weld Powder that is the most reliable and consistently-performing weld metal. Quality validation steps are taken for every lot we produce. Upon final acceptance, our weld metal is specially packaged in moisture-resistant plastic cartridges with special closure caps. Then the cartridges and required metal discs are packaged in moisture-resistant boxes.
Standards Size Packing available are – 15 Grams, 25 Grams, 45 Grams, 65 Grams, 90 Grams, 115 Grams, 150 Grams, 200 Grams, 250 Grams

5) Ignite Powder (Starting Powder)

Starting powder initiates the welding reaction. Use only the material and quantity specified for your mould and cartridge, and follow the supplied ignition instructions.

6) Hand Gloves

Wear suitable protective gloves and the other protective equipment specified in the installation instructions. Inspect gloves before use and replace them if damaged; their service life depends on condition and working environment.

7) Flint Gun

The flint gun is used to ignite the specified starting material. Inspect it before use and follow the ignition procedure supplied with the welding system.

8) Brush (Soft and Hard)

A soft brush is used to clean the mould cavity without damaging its shape. A hard brush is used only for suitable surfaces as directed by the product instructions. Keep the brushes clean and replace worn tools.

9) Slag Removal Tool

The slag removal tool removes residue from the mould after the weld has cooled. Use the recommended tool carefully to avoid damaging the graphite.

10) File Card

A file card is used to clean the conductor surfaces before welding. Inspect and replace the tool according to its condition.

11) Sealing Compound

Sealing compound fills specified gaps where conductors pass through the mould. Use it only as directed for the selected mould and connection.

12) Flame Torch

A suitable torch is used to prepare and dry the mould according to the supplied instructions. Graphite can absorb moisture, so check the mould condition before use and follow the specified preparation procedure.
